I heart faces . chalk . personal

I love I Heart Faces and when I saw this weeks challenge was chalk I knew I had the perfect photo for it. I loved this whole shoot of the Canterbury's, we had so much fun even though it was well over 100 degrees that day. Cooper (nicknamed "The Face") rocked the whole shoot with his adorableness and his parents aren't too bad either :P I had made some chalkboard talking bubbles and wanted to use them for their shoot because of Coopers nickname and here is the end result

I *heart* faces . smiles . personal

This past week was almost a really hard one for us. Osceola got really sick after having a routine surgery and needed to have emergency surgery Thursday to correct the last surgery. Luckily he pulled through and to see him you would never know how bad off he was. So what does that have to do with the I *heart* faces challenge, well this weeks is smiles and after all of that we needed a good smile. I had given Drew his fathers day present (a new ipod) early so he could start to enjoy it and he's decided to share it with Keeley. They've been jamming and dancing together since he's gotten it (their favorites are CCR) and I was able to catch them having fun on camera. Seeing them together always makes my heart smile

Hopefully this week I'll be able to get everything together for a big project I've been waiting to announce so be on the lookout for that :) I'm really excited about it and all the good it will help do :)

i heart faces . dramatic b&w

I heart faces is having a contest this week about dramatic b&w photos, when I read about it this photo popped into my head so I had to enter (and the fact that the awesome Tara Whitney is the guest judge is really cool)

I love this photo for so many reasons. It was taken with my Pentax 35mm film camera when I first started taking portraits so it's grainy and rough around the edges which I think adds to the photo. Alysia was my first client and one of my favorites ever she was up for any cooky ideas I had and some of my favorite photos I've ever taken are of her. To me this photo is what a deployment feels like, we're just loving our men (or women) and waiting for them to come home. This photo makes me miss film even more, hopefully I'll be able to pull the darkroom equipment out of my parents basement and set up a little darkroom soon, hopefully.

i *heart* faces . pets

If you know my family you know we have a mini zoo in our house, with 2 cats, 2 dogs and a bearded dragon it's quite a full house. Our dogs are American Pitt Bull Terriers and I HATE the stigma that is attached to these dogs, Osceola and Vader would rather lick you to death than hurt you. So for my photo I picked this one of our two "viscous" dogs.

i *heart* faces . funny silly faces

Keeley is at the age where she is learning lots of new things, one of which is blowing raspberries when she's mad or really excited. I think it's the funniest thing ever when she does it because she makes the funniest face, so that's why I picked this photo for the funny silly faces :)

wedding bells

I've never done this before but here is my entry in the Wedding Bells category judged by the amazing Jasmine Star. One of my favorite candid photos from Whit and Trents wedding, Trents "Bell" face
